About Me

Hi! My name is Jessica, and I enjoy programming. The first time I can remember interacting with code was back in the early days of MySpace. We got to design our own little spaces on the internet, and I absolutely loved it. In 2015, I graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science. I will always remember the feeling when I created my first 'Hello World' and calculator program in C++.

Web Design and Development became a recent interest to me. I wanted to create online spaces for people and apply my programming skills at the same time. At my most recent job, I was able to utilize some of my HTML, CSS, and JavaScript knowledge. I got to work on real projects for real clients for the first time. It was fun and fulfilling!

I am energetic and passionate about my work, welcoming any challenge or opportunity to create new things.

June 2020 - May 2021

Collaborated with team of three to develop and maintain client websites and projects.
Worked with a variety of languages, platforms, and content management systems such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Wix, Shopify, iMIS EMS, and WordPress.
Utilized Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to edit product images and set up stationery templates for e-commerce websites.
Managed client user and product information through an internal distributor management software and Microsoft Excel.

Drove day in and day out operational excellence through hiring, scheduling, and budgeting.
Developed team members and leaders to be able to promote from within the company.
Led team by clearly communicating standards, and quickly followed up on any opportunities, resulting in cohesion among team members.

Executed merchandising strategies and inventory management tactics.

Created an editable PetSmart Hotel flyer promoting services to local apartment complexes.

Gaming

This is my newest character on World of Warcraft - Shadowlands. Been playing on and off since Burning Crusade with the Wrath expansion being the most fun I had (all my friends played then - also when I met my husband 😉).

I was SO hyped for Elder Scrolls Online to be released - finished the main story the summer it came out. I love the Elder Scroll universe and the art style of the games. Oh, and this is me eating a snack while waiting for the husband to figure out our nexts steps (typical!).

Another one I was hyped for! Unfortunately, I didn't get too far into this, but I loved playing it! The world was fun to explore and I enjoyed some of the quests! With what they were working to do with this game, hoping for good things in the future from Bethesda.

When the Nintendo Switch came out, I found a ton of gems - Overcooked and Overcooked 2 being a couple of them. This is definitely one of those "friendship breaking" games which makes it SO much fun to play with others (especially my husband).

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Me and My Bro

I grew up with Nintendo, so I was always drawn to their games. Animal Crossing being one of them! This is New Horizon on the Switch with me and my brother playing together showing off some BIG catches.

Minecraft my Tiadre character with custom skin

One of those games that I can always come back to: Minecraft! I went on a binge watch of the Hermitcraft streamers (among a few others) at one point. They got me into being really creative and finding my own style of building. Love the openness and infinite amount of things you can do in this game, with or without friends! @tiadre.baenett

Gardening

Daffodils, Pink Tulips, Hyacinths, and Grape Muscari

Daffodils, Tulips, Hyacinths, and Grape Muscari are some of the bulbs I tried out this year. These spring-blooming bulbs should be planted in the fall a few weeks before the first hard frost. They bring in some lovely color in time for spring to begin.

Tete-a-tete daffodil - zone 4 through 8 bulb - is a very early blooming miniature daffodil. They only get up to about 6-8" tall, but they can have multiple flowers per stem. Daffodils are wonderful perennials, so leave them be until the foliage dies back to ensure a strong bloom for the next year.

Juniper Procumbens - zone 4 through 9 conifer - is a popular shrub among landscapers and bonsai enthusiasts. They are easy to grow, requiring little effort, and they make an excellent first-time bonsai plant. Find one at your local nursery and try it out!

Bloom-a-thon Pink Double Reblooming Azalea Rhododendron

Proven Winner's Bloom-a-thon Pink Double Reblooming Azalea is absolutely beautiful with it's many ruffled flowers. This Rhododendron blooms in the spring for about 4-6 weeks, then again mid summer for another long show!
